Meetings

We hold monthly meetings the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm in room 1202 of the Engineering building. Each meeting consists of a short business discussion, followed by a guest speaker, and then free pizza for members. Everyone is welcome; please come and join us! For information about specific meetings, check the calendar.

Lounge

We maintain a lounge and design lab in the Engineering Lab Building (#089) for the use of AIAA/SGT members and other aerospace engineering students. The lounge is in Room 1163, and the design lab is located across the hall. Students gather in the lounge at any hour of the day, and usually find someone there to chat or do homework with. The phone number of the lounge is (301) 405-2422 (x5AIAA). Click here for a map and directions. Please be kind to the lounge and lab; help us keep them clean and in good repair.

Membership Information

You don't have to be an aerospace engineering major to join AIAA. Any student who is interested in the aerospace field can join. Dues are $25 a year ($20 for national membership and $5 for local membership - the local membership includes lounge privileges, discounts, and free pizza at the monthly meetings). Contact an officer or stop by the lounge to pick up a membership form, and return the form to the lounge or an officer with cash or a check made out to "UMCP AIAA."

Forms are now also available online here in pdf file format. Print it out and return it to an officer with your dues. Note that returning members should renew their national memberships on their own through the AIAA website ("User Name" is your last name, "Password" is your 6-digit member number found on your AIAA card). Local student branch memberships are due for renewal at the start of every school year.

Take a look at AIAA's list of Student Member Benefits for more information about the benefits of membership.
