Meetings

We hold monthly meetings in room 1202 (Resnik Lecture Hall) of the Engineering building. Each meeting consists of a short business discussion, followed by a guest speaker, and then free pizza for members. Specific meeting dates and times will be announced via email and flyers as the meetings approach. Everyone is welcome; please come and join us! For information about specific meetings, check the calendar.

Lounge

AIAA HAS JUST MOVED TO A NEW LOUNGE!!! We maintain a lounge and design lab in the Engineering Lab Building (#089) for the use of AIAA/SGT members and other aerospace engineering students. The lounge is now in Room 1144, and the design lab (ADL) is located around the corner. Students gather in the lounge at any hour of the day, and usually find someone there to chat or do homework with. Click here for a map and directions. Please be kind to the lounge and lab; help us keep them clean and in good repair.

Membership Information

You don't have to be an aerospace engineering major to join AIAA. Any student who is interested in the aerospace field can join. Dues are $10 a semester for local membership - the local membership includes lounge privileges, discounts, events, and free pizza at the monthly meetings. Contact an officer or stop by the lounge to pick up a membership form, and return the form to the lounge or an officer with cash or a check made out to "UMCP AIAA." Membership forms are also available online here in pdf file format.

Note that members should also establish/renew their national memberships on their own through the AIAA website ("User Name" is your last name, "Password" is your 6-digit member number found on your AIAA National Membership card). Exploration of the national website will uncover the many benefits of antional membership in AIAA.

For returning AIAA members, local student branch memberships are due for renewal at the start of every school year to amintatin active AIAA status.

Take a look at AIAA's list of Student Member Benefits for more information about the benefits of membership.
