April 22, 1999 - AHS students moved the UH-1H Helicopter from the College Park Airport to the grassy area beside J.M. Patterson building. J.M. Patterson is the location of the Rotorcraft Center. The Huey is used as a teaching tool for incoming students learning about helicopter. The Huey cannot fly anymore but most of the controls still work. The Huey was rigged to a truck and moved in the middle of night to minimize the disturbance to local traffic. Below are pictures of the move.
