April 29-May 1, 1997 - The Student Chapter was present at the 53rd Annual Forum of the American Helicopter Society. Over 15 students voluteered their time to help the Forum run smoothly. Volunteer activities included judging presentation, maintaining audio/visual equipment, and demonstrating the AHS web page at the official AHS booth.

May 7, 1997 - The Student Chapter hosted a luncheon for the Federal City Chapter at the University Conference Center. Dr. George T. Singley, III (Deputy Director, Defense Research and Engineering) from the Office of Secretary of Defense was the featured speaker. Dr. Singley discussed the future of defense research allocations.
